First please allow me to apologize for not updating this blog in recent weeks. It has been somewhat of a whirlwind with school, work, birthdays, volunteering, (excuses excuses). Someone recently told me that excuses only satisfy those who make them but I can't say that I feel any more satisfied. For those of you who have had the pleasure of taking Dr. Harper's MBA555 course you know that there is no shortage of articles to read, videos to watch, or cases to analyze. Despite all that I am enjoying this class. I was also very impressed with the Mr. Orr's first class. The next few months will be challenging but it seems that I'll learn quite a bit and that is what it is all about right?
The past few few weeks have been very productive and exciting for the MBAA. We completed our first cleanup of our adopted section of College Road. Thanks to all those who came helped out, especially Dr. Howe for his commitment. (photos below)
We also received the new shirts that look great. Thanks to the MBAA VP Chad Aspinwall for making that happen (photo below) I think Chad also got some nice looking koozies and if you purchase two shirts you can get a free koozie. As always the money generated from sales of the shirts goes towards the MBAA scholarship and/or activity funds.
The MBAA also lined up a venue for the annual Christmas party and continued to work out the details of our quickly approaching Oyster Roast fundraising event. The oyster roast will be open to the public and we encourage former UNCW MBA students, family, and friends to attend.

The MBAA welcomed two members of the UNCW IMBA class to our last meeting. We're also having small gathering otherwise known as a cookie social tomorrow evening before class to give both MBA classes and the IMBA class a chance to get to know each other. We hope that the IMBA and MBA classes can interact more while they are at UNCW since it is my understanding that they'll be headed overseas in a few months.
Finally, I'm working with the Wilmington director of the Toys for Tots program. I hope to help him out this year with support from the MBAA.
